In fall 2022, the College of Architecture, Design and Construction hosted the second annual Day of Design. The event brought together the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (APLA) and the School of Industrial and Graphic Design (SIGD) for a celebration of architecture and design disciplines. Due to both the relative newness of the event and its scale, a large range of deliverables was required.
The day-long event opened with APLA and SIGD industry speakers in the morning and early afternoon, with a casual lunch offered in between, and concluded with an awards ceremony for scholarship recipients and donors. While the speaker sessions were open to the public, the evening awards event was by invitation only. The invitation suite included a printed invitation and envelope as well as a few versions of a digital invitation, customized to fit the needs of the respective recipient list.
Promotion of the event included a small poster, social media graphics to promote the speakers and to thank the sponsors, an email to share the speaker lineup with students and a monitor slide to highlight the schedule of events. Day-of deliverables included speaker session programs, sponsor signage, directional signage, food signage, awards programs, a bellyband for the awards event giveaway, an awards slideshow, tags for the speaker thank yous and table numbers.
